Week 5 came with the shocker of Arkansas over Mississippi State and the rise of the Volunteers. How do the rest of the teams shake out in SEC football?

Did you miss any of the action in Week 5, the second week of SEC play? Let’s rehash everything you could have missed, starting with the morning slate.

Florida, who sits at No. 4 in the newest AP Poll, toppled South Carolina 38-24 in a game that Kyle Trask impressed in once again. South Carolina hung around at the start, thanks in part to a struggling defense at times for Florida, but they didn’t have enough to take down the Gators. Tennessee, which moved up to No. 14, ran all over Missouri, 35-12, to improve to 2-0 on the young season.

The afternoon slate started with a game that went exactly how you would expect it to — Texas A&M at Alabama. The Tide smacked A&M 52-24 in a game that the Aggies hung around in for about a quarter and then was absolutely blown out of thanks to Mac Jones and the Alabama receiving corps. Kentucky and Ole Miss went to overtime after a shootout and thanks to a missed extra point, the Rebels came out victorious, 42-41.

Things got interesting in the nightcap. We start with Georgia and Auburn. With a 27-6 win, Georgia moved up to No. 3 and Auburn fell to No. 13. Thanks to Stetson Bennett and Co., the Bulldogs have shown themselves to be a top team in the conference.

Arkansas shocked the world and knocked off Mississippi State 21-14, ending the SEC’s longest conference losing streak. Finally, LSU blew past Vanderbilt 41-7.

Now let’s talk about power rankings.
