Alabama football must be wary of Ole Miss offense, Lane Kiffin
By Shelbie Warr
After taking down Texas A&M, Alabama football makes the trip to Ole Miss to take on Lane Kiffin and the Rebels. Here’s our preview of the matchup.
This game is one that I’m extremely excited about. Ole Miss and Alabama both have offenses firing on all cylinders as it stands.
Matt Corral has been great and Mac Jones has been even better. Jones is leading the nation in passing efficiency and Corral is third in that category.
Ole Miss is coming off a one-point win versus Kentucky that many say was lucky as the Wildcats missed an extra point that could have sent this game into a second overtime. Their one loss comes to No. 3 Florida where they were able to match up offensively, but not defensively which did them in.
Meanwhile, Alabama has blown past their competition offensively, putting up 38 on Missouri and 52 on Texas A&M. The defense has been good enough to keep other teams out of games, for the most part, allowing their offense to do what they need to do.
Here is how you can watch the matchup:

Keys to Victory
For Ole Miss, it has to start with defense. The Rebels have yet to put together a strong defensive performance and they are going to need one against Alabama and Jones. Ole Miss is currently dead-last in the SEC in total defense and that doesn’t bode well for them heading into a game with one of the best quarterbacks in the conference.
For Alabama, it starts with a secondary that has been a little shaky. It cannot allow Corral to get on a roll with Elijah Moore and the rest of his offense. They have to win those one on one battles in space and the defensive line cannot give the Rebels quarterback time to throw the ball where he wants to.
Prediction
While Ole Miss can put up some serious numbers given the right amount of time, I don’t think that their defense will hold well enough for them to not be outscored by the Tide. This game will be over by the third quarter, despite every effort by the Rebels for it to not be.
Final Score: Alabama 52, Ole Miss 27
