Louisville football is facing a major must-win battle versus Georgia Tech in Week 6 but it won’t be an easy road test. Who comes out on top?

Scott Satterfield probably didn’t expect this many speed bumps in year two at Louisville. The former App State head coach saw success in his first season with the Cardinals, going 8-5, but so far through three games in 2020, Louisville is just 1-2.

The Cardinals have a date with Georgia Tech on Friday night.

If things are going to get back on track for the Cardinals, they need to take care of a tough Georgia Tech team on the road. It’s not going to be easy, especially since the Yellow Jackets’ 1-2 record is not indicative of how much they’ve improved in just a year. They beat Florida State in the opener before falling to a good UCF team and then stumbling versus Syracuse.

Friday night’s game will be a battle of two teams hungry for a win, but will the Cardinals get it done and end their two-game skid? Time for some bold predictions.

3. Defense holds Georgia Tech under 350 yards

This may not seem like the boldest of bold predictions, but given the fact that the Yellow Jackets’ offense has been the strength of their team this season, averaging 454 yards per game, this would be a massive victory for the Cardinals.

Louisville struggled against Miami in its second game, but other than that, the Cardinals’ defense has been solid, allowing just under 370 yards per contest. That number will go down again.

Georgia Tech has a talented young quarterback in Jeff Sims, but he’s had a turnover issue this season and that will continue as Louisville’s front will create plenty of pressure, making him run for his life all night. He’ll cough up the ball a couple of times and the Cardinals’ defense will hold Geoff Collins’ team to under 350 total yards on their own field.

Major confidence-booster for the Cards.
