1. Irish go undefeated with 4-0 month

Notre Dame has some tricky tests in October, don’t get me wrong. But to say this month should bring at least a loss or two for the Irish would force me to disagree.

There are matchups against Florida State, Louisville and even Pitt that I’d say might be toss-ups, but the Seminoles are struggling mightily and look to be trending down this year, the Cardinals are on a skid heading into a Week 6 battle and the Panthers are coming off a bad loss to NC State which they should have won.

Brian Kelly’s team will take care of Florida State on Saturday evening. The Seminoles are struggling at the quarterback position and that’s going to be all this defense needs.

Louisville isn’t as good as we expected but it’ll still be competitive and the game will take place at Notre Dame. Malik Cunningham might struggle here.

Pitt and Georgia Tech are on the rise but both are beatable. The Panthers are defensive-minded while Georgia Tech can’t stop much of anything on that side of the ball. Notre Dame wins a defensive battle against Pitt and then runs all over the Yellow Jackets.

Notre Dame finishes the month 4-0 and improves to 6-0 overall and jumps into the top five nationally.
