South Carolina football will face the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday afternoon. Here’s why the Gamecocks will beat the Commodores.

The South Carolina Gamecocks will travel to Nashville on Saturday, Oct. 10, to face the Vanderbilt Commodores in their third game of the season. Both teams come into this week winless, with 0-2 records, so both will have that as motivation to secure their first victory.

The Gamecocks lost last week to the Florida Gators in Gainesville and dropped their season opener at home against Tennessee. Vanderbilt gave Texas A&M a run for its money in the season opener but didn’t finish the job and they were blown out by LSU 41-7 last week.

The Gamecocks should have no problem clinching their first victory on Saturday and are heavily favored to win.

Let’s go over the three reasons South Carolina should put an end to their winless season.

3. History

The history between these two teams predicts the Gamecocks will come away from this game with the win. The two have met 29 times and the Gamecocks are 25-4 in the all-time series and are on an 11-game winning streak against the Commodores.

As a matter of fact, the Gamecocks’ last win in the series was just last year. Yes, you read that right. South Carolina’s last victory was in November of 2019 when it defeated the Commodores 24-7.

The Gamecocks are hungry for the win and have history on their side.
