Syracuse Football: 3 bold predictions against Duke in Week 6
1. Tommy DeVito tosses three touchdown passes
Former blue-chip recruit Tommy DeVito has struggled a bit in his redshirt junior season, but a date with Duke will change that tune. Despite opponents throwing the ball on less than half of their plays, Duke has surrendered nearly 250 yards per game through the air.
In last season’s lopsided affair, DeVito completed only six passes, but still found the endzone twice. With this season’s matchup likely closer than last season, DeVito will be asked to do more.
Syracuse possesses two big-play threats in receivers Taj Harris and Nykiem Johnson. Both players average over 12 yards per catch in an offense that does not take downfield shots often. Utilizing both of their speed will allow DeVito to find the end zone with ease on Saturday.
Can two wins be considered a winning streak? For the sake of Central New York, let’s say the answer is yes.
