1. Sam Ehlinger will pass for over 400 yards

Oklahoma has had its fair share of struggles defensively against the pass. Kansas State’s Skylar Thompson threw for over 300 yards when he is more well known for being a runner. Despite holding the Wildcats to 66 rushing yards, Oklahoma’s secondary was exposed.

Before the loss to TCU, Sam Ehlinger was considered by many to be a Heisman candidate. While his 15 total touchdowns and two interceptions still are impressive, Ehlinger needs to have another big game to get back into the conversation.

He’s already thrown for 400 yards against UTEP earlier in the season. Since then, he’s thrown for under 265 yards in each of the last two games. Ehlinger is in need of a big-time game in order to get back on track.

Oklahoma has not been the same team that they have been in past years, but the defense continues to be a struggle for them. Ehlinger has an opportunity to take advantage of and produce big numbers. While his history with Oklahoma hasn’t been successful, Ehlinger is a new beast his senior season as he’s on pace for career highs.

In a game that feels like it could be a shootout, Texas appears to have more weapons to keep up than Oklahoma does. Ehlinger should put an exclamation point on his career with a big 400 yard game against the Sooners in his senior season.
