Miami and Clemson football both came into this week’s game undefeated, but the Tigers handled the Hurricanes. Here are three takeaways from the victory.

The No. 7 ranked Miami Hurricanes traveled to Clemson on Saturday to face the No. 1 ranked Tigers. This is the first top-10 matchup at Memorial Stadium in Clemson since 2016 and both teams entered the game undefeated.

Miami was hoping to pull off the upset in Death Valley during the nationally televised primetime game, but Clemson handled Miami and remain undefeated.

Let’s get to the takeaways from the dominant victory.

3. Miami made too many mistakes to keep up 

This game was full of penalties and errors on both sides of the filed, but more so on Miami than Clemson.

Clemson’s costliest errors came at the expense of B.T. Potter who missed all three of his field goal attempts, two of them blocked by Bubba Bolden and the third by Jared Henderson.

The Tigers were called on seven penalties for 75 yards while Miami was called for 16 penalties and 135 yards, two of which were targeting calls and resulted in the ejection of two players. The first, Amari Carter was called on targeting and ejected early in the first quarter and Keontra Smith was disqualified in the third quarter.

Miami made too many mistakes and it cost them a crucial game.
