After a week of upsets and close calls, the SEC football power rankings are a mess. Where does everyone land after a crazy Week 6?

Did you miss a minute of the Week 6 action? Let’s get you caught up before we get into the power rankings. We will start with the morning slot.

Kellen Mond, now reigning SEC offensive player of the week, and his offense got caught in a shoot out with Kyle Trask and Florida. The Aggies would come out on top 41-38 after a game-winning field goal by Seth Small as time expired thanks to a huge turnover forced by the Aggie defense to get the ball back as time ticked down.

LSU was shocked by bottom-dweller Missouri 45-41 as SEC freshman of the week Connor Bazelak stayed with the LSU Tigers shot for shot and his defense made a goal-line stand to win the game. South Carolina ran past Vanderbilt 41-7, something we all expected.

In the afternoon slot, the SEC Game of the Week, Tennessee at Georgia, went exactly as I thought it would. While Jarrett Guarantano did well enough, it wasn’t exactly enough to get past Stetson Bennett and the Georgia Bulldogs who won 44-21.

The second game in the afternoon slot came with quite a bit of controversy. The final play came down to the questions of was it a backward pass, was it a fumble, who’s ball should it be, why did the ref blow his whistle prematurely and so many more if you were an Arkansas fan. Either way, Arkansas fell to Auburn 30-28.

In our evening slots, Alabama took on Ole Miss in Oxford. This one was another game that went to a shootout, but when Ole Miss had to settle for a field goal as the time ticked down, Alabama jumped on the opportunity and won the game 63-48 behind Najee Harris’ five touchdowns, a performance that won him co-SEC offensive player of the week.

Despite throwing the ball 70 times, the Mississippi State Bulldogs had all of two points to show for it. They fell to Kentucky 24-2 behind the Kentucky defense’s six interceptions of KJ Costello and Will Rogers.

Now that we have recapped the week, let’s talk about SEC power rankings, starting at the bottom.
