Miami was no match for the Clemson Tigers. Notre Dame blew out Florida State in South Bend. Who tops this week’s ACC football power rankings?

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)

As the ACC season rolls on, things are becoming ever so clear. Week six of conference play rendered many lessons. Clemson is still looking for a challenger in the ACC. Their game Saturday night against Miami was not about the Hurricanes winning; it was about the Hurricanes hanging.

This is just year two of the Manny Diaz experience in Coral Gables and would be presumptuous to think they’ve caught up to Clemson this soon.

On the back end of the conference, Wake Forest, Florida State and  Louisville are clearly not very good. All three schools are looking for their first conference wins of the season. For Wake Forest, much of their schedule is in front of them. They’ve played Clemson but the Notre Dame gave was postponed.

Year one of the Mike Norvell experience in Tallahassee is all about finding players who are going to help you in the next few years. Quarterback Jordan Travis could be one of those players. Despite losing to Notre Dame, Travis gave the Seminoles a spark offensively. Too bad Travis does not play defense.

Louisville has been exposed and their weaknesses are on full display in this conference, plus one schedule. The offensive line was going to be an issue. Louisville’s offensive line was bad last season and the Cardinals lost their best lineman to the draft.

The clearest part of the ACC is its murkiness in the middle. The top two and bottom three are fairly clear; it is the middle nine that are ambiguous. The “middle nine” are going to destroy one another all season. It might not be pretty, but it is going to be fun.

Here are your ACC power rankings going into Week 7.
