In a top-five matchup and a likely preview of the SEC title game, Alabama football took down Georgia, 41-24. What did we learn from this one?

Despite Georgia hanging in for the beginning of the game, by the fourth quarter it was all Alabama thanks to a few turnovers, a few big plays, and just overall better play. Alabama has blown past everyone they have played by at least 10-plus and that didn’t change against Georgia, winning 41-24.

What did we learn about both of these teams throughout this matchup?

3. Stetson Bennett isn’t ready for the big time

Georgia is ranked in the top five and has done relatively well since Stetson Bennett took over as quarterback. However, who have they played? No one of note, that is for sure. Their biggest win comes against Auburn and Auburn wasn’t exactly all they have been cracked up to be after falling to South Carolina this week.

In this matchup with Alabama, we saw that Bennett’s deep throws down the center of the field isn’t going to get it done against the likes of the Tide and may just not be ready for these big-time football games against the higher-ranked competition of the top of the SEC.

Maybe Bennett is a talented quarterback. In fact, I know he is. However, he couldn’t make enough plays to keep up with Alabama’s talented offense and that cost them in the long run of the game.
