Clemson football put up its most dominant performance of the 2020 season thus far with a 73-7 road win over Georgia Tech. What did we learn?

Another day, another dominant win by the No. 1 team in the country. The Clemson Tigers rolled into Atlanta, and crushed the Yellow Jackets by a score of 73-7. This score also happened to be the largest margin of victory for a conference game in ACC history.

Despite the score, Clemson actually got off to a bit of shaky start, as both of their Heisman candidates turned the ball over in the first half. Travis Etienne started the game off with a fumble inside the Georgia Tech 25. Trevor Lawrence also threw his first interception in 367 pass attempts.

These turnovers did absolutely nothing to slow down the Clemson offense as they would go on to put up 52 points in just the first half.

Trevor Lawrence finished 24-for-32 with 404 yards, five touchdowns and an interception. Amari Rodgers continues to step up as Lawrence’s favorite target with Tee Higgins off to the NFL and Justyn Ross missing the season. Rodgers finished the first half with six catches (on six targets), 161 yards and two touchdowns.

On the Georgia Tech side, there was a lot of great talk about Jeff Sims coming into this game, as the freshman quarterback has played well through the first four games. This was a game he will want to forget very quickly as he completed just 46 percent of his passes, threw an interception, got sacked five times and fumbled three times (losing two of them).

Sims is still young and this was the highest level of competition he has faced thus far. But the sooner he and the rest of his teammates bury the ball and move on from this game, the better.

Through five games, Clemson has beaten their opponents by a combined score of 242-60. With today being their most dominant performance thus far, what did we learn?
