Tennessee Football: 3 takeaways from disappointing loss to Kentucky
By Shelbie Warr
2. Do both teams have quarterback issues?
Both of these teams came in with question marks at the quarterback position.
We will start with Kentucky, because, well, the Wildcats got better throughout the game. Many were unsure that Terry Wilson would really be able to play quarterback because he hasn’t exactly shown talent at the position outside of his ability to run the ball. However, he finished 12-for-15 with a touchdown, so things can’t be that bad, especially with a defense like the one he has.
Now, Tennessee. Man oh man, there are some issues there. Jarrett Guarantano fumbled and threw two interceptions, both returned for touchdowns. He was benched for J.T. Shrout who quickly threw an interception of his own and allowed for Guarantano to find his way back on the field. However, when things started to get out of hand, freshman Harrison Bailey was put in and completed one of four pass attempts while he was on the field.
Who will be the quarterback for the Vols as the season goes on? I don’t know, but right now it isn’t looking too great.
