Texas A&M football is flying high after a big win over Florida, but can the Aggies avoid a massive letdown at the hands of Mississippi State?

It’s been a wild season thus far. After Texas A&M sputtered against Alabama, losing by what felt like a million, Jimbo Fisher’s job security was called into question.

And then the Aggies upset No. 4 Florida.

Following the win over the Gators in College Station, everyone went from doubting the Aggies to jumping right back on the bandwagon. They went from calling for Jimbo’s job to praising him for one of his best coaching performances at Texas A&M.

Now Mississippi State is waiting to pull off a massive upset against the No. 11 Aggies. This game has “trap” written all over it, but the Aggies might have all the confidence they need now.

Will Texas A&M be able to ward off Mississippi State?

3. Defense struggles with KJ Costello

KJ Costello has had a nightmare couple of games with Mississippi State, leading to his brief benching in a 24-2 loss to Kentucky.

In the past two games, Costello has just one touchdown pass and seven interceptions. This comes after a season-opening road upset win over LSU where he threw five touchdown passes with a couple of picks and 600 yards. He has struggled to match that since.

That will all change on Saturday as Mike Leach lets him loose again and relies on him as the starter. He’ll have a big game against the Aggies who allow about 300 yards per game through the air. This is a dream come true for Leach.

Texas A&M is going to allow Costello to go off and gain some confidence which he’ll turn into a breakout game, getting him back on track.
