All eyes were on one game this weekend in Big 12 football as just two teams took to the field. How would the outcome affect our power rankings?

After the scheduled contest between Oklahoma State and Baylor was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns, just two Big 12 teams’ played this weekend — West Virginia and Kansas.

And while it was a close game early and through most of the first half, the Mountaineers exerted their dominance over the Jayhawks in what was eventually a 38-21 victory at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown.

Kansas was without head coach Les Miles, who tested positive for COVID-19 early last week before multiple negative tests, but he decided it was in everyone’s best interest to remain in Lawrence.

Can you imagine what would’ve happened if the Jayhawks extended their early 10-point lead and actually beat the Mountaineers? Would the Jayhawks even need Miles? However, that wasn’t the case.

With just a single game this past weekend, this edition of the Big 12 power rankings is going to be a short one. And continuing the tradition of coming in at No. 10 is the Kansas Jayhawks. It’s nice to have some consistency in the conference, though.
