SEC Football Power Rankings, Week 8: Arkansas, South Carolina rising
By Shelbie Warr
The Auburn Tigers are down three spots after falling to South Carolina for the first time since 1933. Bo Nix was intercepted three times and just looked as if he had no idea what was going on from start to finish. Is it time to move on to a new quarterback? Probably not, but he has some growing to do before this turns into a sophomore slump.
The Gamecocks are up four spots to No. 9 in the Power Rankings this week after knocking off Auburn for the first time since 1933. I am still not sure what to make of Collin Hill and the Gamecocks and still think that it is time to move on from Will Muschamp, but things are looking up for them as it stands right now.
The Volunteers are on their way down after falling to Georgia and now Kentucky in back to back weeks. If you want to talk about quarterback problems, look at Tennessee. It may just be time to move on from Jarrett Guarantano if they want to win any more games this season, but that is just my opinion. Now, they face off against Alabama, so things really seem like they will only get worse from here.
The Kentucky Wildcats are up two spots after beating Tennessee for the first time on the road since 1984. Terry Wilson wasn’t great at the quarterback position, but he did enough to supplement his defense which balled out once again. Now, they face off against a Missouri team who seems to be ready to go offensively now, but defensively there are some serious question marks.
