Clemson reminded everyone who rules ACC football by trouncing Georgia Tech 73-7 this weekend. Florida State upset UNC 31-28 for their first ACC win.

What if half the things ever said
It turned out 2 be a lie
How will U know the Truth?
If U were given all the answers
And U stopped 2 wonder why
But how will U know the Truth? ~The Truth by Prince

Welcome back to the ACC Power Rankings at the corner of Tobacco Road and the future statue of David Cutcliffe. This week is all about the truth. There is an abundance of truths to be found in the Atlantic Coast Conference? For example, why are Miami and Florida State — two “coastal” schools in different divisions? The ACC thought they would play for the conference title most seasons.

One thing that is true this season is Clemson. The Tigers are on a mission to prove they are the best team in college football. Every game is a referendum on their dominance. On the flip side of that equation, Syracuse is terrible.

There are four “separations” in the conference. The Clemson Tigers are clearly superior to any other team in the conference. After a gap, there is Notre Dame. There is another gap, then you have Virginia Tech, Miami, NC State, UNC, Pitt, Virginia, Wake Forest and Boston College. Finally, there is Syracuse, Duke and Louisville.

The truth about the ACC is how muddled it is in the middle, making for either really fun or really average football, depending on which Saturday it is.

Here are your power rankings going into Week 8.
