Notre Dame Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Pitt in Week 8
Notre Dame football will be traveling to Pitt on Saturday afternoon and it might be one of the best games of the week. Will the Irish stave off the upset?
Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly has his work cut out for him heading into a big Week 8 battle at Pittsburgh against the giant-killing Panthers.
Not only has Notre Dame been less than impressive this season, but they are sitting in a prime position in the playoff race but everyone is assuming the Irish are frauds and a matchup with Pittsburgh on the road will prove that. Right?
Kelly and Co. are hoping that isn’t the case, but it’s going to be a tight battle in Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon, especially with Kenny Pickett back.
It is 2020, so anything can happen.
3. Kyren Williams rushes for 150 yards, two scores
All aboard the Kyren Williams hype train. Better hurry because it’s getting set to leave the station.
The sophomore running back has taken college football by storm this season, rushing for 486 yards and four touchdowns on just 73 carries in four games. He’s averaging about 120 yards per game and he’s only getting better as the season goes on. Williams is going to continue his hot streak on Saturday with 150 yards and two touchdowns.
Why is this such a bold prediction if he’s coming off two straight 100-yard games? Well, because Pitt has one of the best run defenses in the country, allowing just under 62 yards per game on the ground.
That’s right, Williams is going to more than double Pitt’s average yards per game allowed on the ground by himself. This kid is legit.
