3. The ‘Big 3’ carried the Ohio State offense

There was no answer for the trio of Justin Fields, Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson. Fields was outstanding, finishing with just two incompletions. He made all the throws that he needed to and was a major threat rushing the ball.

Fields finished 20-for-22 with 328 total yards and three total touchdowns. He was able to pick up right where he left off last season and was the best player on the field.

For NFL scouts that watched this game, they had to be impressed by his deep-ball accuracy and ability to stay alive in the pocket. Fields has the makings of a top five prospect in this upcoming draft and proved it once again today.

Nebraska’s secondary had no answer for the duo of Wilson and Olave who combined for 13 catches, 233 yards and a touchdown. Something to note is that only one player on the Buckeyes’ offense outside of these two recorded more than one catch.

The running game was pretty quiet outside of Fields.

Master Teague and Trey Sermon combined for 96 yards on 23 carries. Fields and the passing attack may be enough to carry the Buckeyes today and through many games, but the running game does need to step up going forward.
