College Football 2020: 5 bold predictions for Week 9 action

There will be some huge matchups and stories for Week 9 of college football despite there being only one ranked matchup on the slate.

There will be some games where there will have serious implications in the race for the College Football Playoff in Week 9.

There will only be one ranked matchup this week as the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes will take on No. 18 Penn State on the road. Last week, the Nittany Lions started their season with a tough 36-35 loss in overtime against Indiana. There are not many football experts that are giving the Nittany Lions a chance to beat the Buckeyes, but they feel confident with their home-field advantage.

This week, two games are canceled because of the effects of COVID-19. Those two games are North Texas at UTEP and No. 9 Wisconsin at Nebraska. The Cornhuskers are were looking to host the Chattanooga Mocs but the Big Ten denied the matchup.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of exciting matchups to look forward to in Week 9. There will be a battle of the Tigers, potential shootouts in the Big 12 and SEC and there will likely be a top-10 team going down.
