Iowa State Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Kansas in Week 9
Kansas hasn’t put up much of a fight against anyone this season and Iowa State football will be the latest to get a shot at the Jayhawks.
After Louisiana came to Ames in the opener and knocked off Iowa State, it felt like that was the last time we would hear from Iowa State in 2020.
But the Cyclones rattled off three straight wins and improved to 3-1, setting up a massive showdown against Oklahoma State in Stillwater in Week 8. Unfortunately for Matt Campbell and the Cyclones’ slim playoff hopes, Oklahoma State came out on top 24-21.
Entering a Week 9 game against Kansas, the Cyclones are hoping to get back on track and they have the perfect opponent for just that.
What could take place in Lawrence this weekend?
3. Breece Hall reaches 200 yards
Is this even a bold prediction anymore? Breece Hall has been so darn good this season that predicting anything less than 150 yards in a game might be even bolder.
But for the sake of these predictions escaping the norm, I’m going to predict a 200-yard game from Hall. The sophomore has been putting up some big numbers this season and he has over 100 yards in each game.
Hall is also coming off his best game of the season against a stingy Oklahoma State defense, accounting for 185 yards and a touchdown on just 20 carries. He averaged just less than 10 yards per carry and looked like the best running back on the field that day and he shared it with reigning 2,000-yard rusher Chuba Hubbard.
Kansas won’t be able to slow Breece as he’ll finish with 200 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday afternoon.
