College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 10
By Zach Bigalke
Auburn earned its way back into the AP Top 25 with a resounding 48-11 win at home on the Plains against LSU in Week 9. The victory pushed the Tigers to 4-2 in the SEC standings and, combined with all the chaos of Halloween weekend throughout the FBS, allowed Gus Malzahn’s team to return to the polls.
Key to the effort was Bo Nix, who tore up the depleted LSU defense for 300 passing yards and three touchdowns on 18-of-24 passing. Nix also led the team with 81 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Tank Bigsby added 71 yards and a pair of scores on the ground as the Tigers finished with 206 rushing yards and more than 500 total yards. For comparison, the visiting Bayou Bengals had only 32 total rushing yards as a team.
Back in the rankings, Auburn is off in Week 10 before opening November play at Mississippi State in two weeks. Still looming on the schedule are tests against Alabama and Texas A&M at the end of the regular season. As always the Tigers are a dangerous dark-horse in the SEC race and a team to watch in the polls.
