3. Mohamed Ibrahim has star potential

Minnesota’s offense looked rather dull early, that is until Mohamed Ibrahim stepped up to the plate. You couldn’t have asked for a better first half, as the Maryland native rushed for four touchdowns and a total of 130 yards. He ran with both authority and speed, absolutely decimating the reeling Maryland defense.

Because of Ibrahim’s performance, Minnesota only threw the ball five times in the first half. Not only was he showing off, but he was showing off in his own backyard. Maryland was able to see up-close just what they missed out on.

Plenty of guys dream of scoring four touchdowns in a game, but Ibrahim was able to accomplish this feat in just thirty minutes of football. All throughout the night, he was the life and blood of the Minnesota offense. Even when it seemed like the Terps might come up with a big stop near the goal line, Ibrahim was able to use his speed to bounce it outside.

Things are pointing towards a potentially-rough year for the Gophers after dropping their first two games. One bright spot for this program is Mohamed Ibrahim, who will continue to produce and do great things for Minnesota.
