Notre Dame football was fresh off a road win over Pitt and the Irish were hoping to dominate another ACC foe away from home and they did.

One week removed from an astonishing 45-3 road win over Pitt, the Fighting Irish looked to maintain that momentum against a Georgia Tech team trending down.

And they did just that with a 31-13 win.

Notre Dame is now 6-0 on the season and 5-0 in ACC play just one week before facing a Trevor Lawrence-less Clemson team. That massive showdown got a lot more interesting with the star quarterback sitting out due to a positive COVID-19 test. The Tigers nearly lost to Boston College on Saturday afternoon.

But enough about Clemson and back to the Irish. This team is playing well at the right time and a playoff berth is looking good right now.

What did we learn from the Irish’s dominant win?

3. Looking for that No. 1 receiver has been tough

This is no disrespect to Javon McKinley but Notre Dame has struggled to find that go-to receiver. The Irish are down a couple of targets and one of which was expected to be the No. 1 receiver of the future in Braden Lenzy. So who would step up in his place?

McKinley did a solid job against the Yellow Jackets seeing as Notre Dame didn’t air it out a ton, but he did lead all receivers with _ catches for _ yards.

This is the second time in three games that the senior receiver has accounted for at least 90 yards and if he can continue this, that would be huge for the passing game. But he still isn’t a go-to target just yet as he needs to do this on a weekly basis.

That young WR1 remains to be seen as the Irish have been lacking just that since the departure of Chase Claypool this offseason.
