1. Matt Corral had the perfect bounce-back game

Matt Corral was as close to perfect as a quarterback can be on Saturday. He was dominant from start to finish, throwing twice as many touchdown passes as incompletions — yes, you read that correctly.

The sophomore quarterback completed 31-of-34 passes for 412 yards and a remarkable six touchdowns.

What’s even more impressive is the fact that he did all of this while getting doubted after his previous two performances following the Alabama game. He had 354 total yards with three touchdowns and eight interceptions combined against Auburn and Arkansas. People were beginning to doubt his status as QB1.

While a performance against a bottom-dweller like Vanderbilt isn’t going to sway anyone’s opinion to an extreme point, he did quiet the doubters for a week.

He doubled his touchdown total from the past two games and was nearly perfect through the air with no interceptions.

Corral needed this performance.
