Texas A&M football beat Arkansas 42-31 for their ninth straight win over the Razorbacks. What did we learn from this one?

The Aggies, after a slow first drive, had a strong offensive performance and were able to put together a win against Arkansas. Kellen Mond etched his name into the record books once again and the Aggies won 42-31.

On the other side, Feleipe Franks and the Razorbacks just wouldn’t go away, but they weren’t doing enough to get into the end zone and match touchdowns with touchdowns.

What did we learn from this one about both teams?

3. Arkansas defense isn’t great without takeaways

The Razorback defense has 13 takeaways on the season. However, they didn’t have a single one against the Aggies and as a result we saw a lot of touchdowns and even more yards for the Maroon and White. They couldn’t shut down the run and couldn’t stop Kellen Mond and his receivers and running backs from getting into the end zone.

Of course, it didn’t help that the Razorback offense was matching touchdowns with field goals, but the point is that their defense wasn’t able to force a turnover and as a result, wasn’t able to make many stops as Mond and the Aggie offense walked all over them.

Now, they face off against Tennessee, Florida, LSU, Missouri and Alabama. How many turnovers are they going to be able to force against these teams? Will their defense be able to help out their offense? I’m not so sure, because from what I saw this defense isn’t much of anything unless they are able to force a turnover or two.
