Arkansas football was hoping to create some more chaos in the SEC but Texas A&M had other ideas. What’d we learn from the Razorbacks’ loss?

Two weeks removed from beating a red-hot Ole Miss offense, Arkansas hit the road to take on No. 8 Texas A&M. The Aggies, however, weren’t ready to hear just how much Arkansas has improved under Sam Pittman as they took the rivalry game in impressive fashion, 42-31.

Arkansas now drops to 2-3 on the season while Texas A&M improves to 3-1. There’s now no hope for the Razorbacks to sniff the AP Top 25 this year.

If you’re a fan of the Razorbacks, you have to be pleased with the fact that this team hasn’t been blown out yet and has been in every single game. No, this one wasn’t exactly a tight one, but the Razorbacks never let it get too out of hand.

What’d we learn from the Razorbacks’ tough loss to Texas A&M?

3. Feleipe Franks did his part

If you’re looking for someone on Arkansas’ roster to blame for this road loss, don’t even think about pointing at Feleipe Franks. The grad transfer from Florida was steady once again, not letting the Razorbacks get too high or too low on the road in a rivalry game.

Sure, Arkansas ended up losing by double digits anyways, so his steadiness and consistency didn’t much matter, but he did everything he could. The defense let him down.

Arkansas had been known as an opportunistic team, forcing plenty of turnovers. But that didn’t happen against Texas A&M as the Aggies played a clean game and almost scored at will. That put a lot of pressure on Franks but he did a solid job. He finished the day with 239 yards and three touchdowns on 23-of-31 completions.

Can’t blame this kid for the loss. Blame the defense for not making enough stops.
