BYU football didn’t need to do anything special to beat Western Kentucky on Saturday night. What’d we learn from the Cougars’ rout?

Another week, another win for BYU. The Cougars look absolutely unstoppable this season, adding a 31-point win over Western Kentucky to their resume.

The BYU bandwagon is filling up quickly, so jump on before it’s too late.

BYU put up 35 points in the first half against the Hilltoppers and it was pretty clear that the game was over before it really even started. It was the better team from the opening kickoff and the only reason the final score wasn’t uglier was because the Cougars seemed to coast a bit in the second half and a 10-minute Western Kentucky drive to start the half took the air out of the game.

A 41-10 win is still impressive no matter how poorly Western Kentucky has played this season.

What’d we learn from the Cougars’ seventh win of the year?

3. This offensive line is elite

BYU might just have the best offensive line in the Group of Five this season. They have been fantastic and they’re one of the main reasons Zach Wilson is having the type of year he’s having.

Western Kentucky’s defense wasn’t exactly elite heading into Saturday night’s game, but BYU still needed to take the Hilltoppers seriously and they did just that. The line was about as good as you can be, not allowing a single sack, giving Wilson plenty of time to throw the ball again and only surrendering one tackle for loss.

On top of that, the run game averaged over five yards per carry and the offense accounted for over 400 yards and five touchdowns resulting in a 41-10 win.

If BYU goes undefeated this season, this line will be a major reason why.
