2. Zach Wilson doesn’t need to be perfect

It’s hard to say we learned anything new about Zach Wilson from this one other than the fact that he may actually be human. He didn’t have his best game of the year but BYU still dominated.

Wilson finished the day with a bit of an accuracy issue, completing just 18-of-32 passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns with an interception. His pick in the second half led to a Western Kentucky touchdown, but the game was out of reach at that point so it didn’t much matter.

This was probably Wilson’s worst game of the season and BYU still won by 31 points against Western Kentucky, going to show that he doesn’t need to be perfect.

To make up for his “pedestrian” performance, the Cougars rushed for 166 yards, played stingy defense and moved the ball with ease. The offense finished with just over 400 yards, but it was enough to put the game out of reach in the first half.

The teams left on BYU’s schedule have to be alarmed that Wilson had his worst game of the year and he still led the Cougars to a 41-10 win.
