Arkansas football went to College Station for the annual rivalry game against Texas A&M and left with a disappointing loss. Let’s talk hot takes.

It’s been a few days and Arkansas fans have been able to digest and process the road loss to Arkansas in Week 9. Many Razorback fans expected this game to be close, but it just didn’t play out that way.

Texas A&M took a lead early and held on throughout as it looked like the better team and proved its ranking in the top 10 nationally.

Arkansas had been a surprise this season, sitting at 2-2 with a shot to upset the Aggies, but they fell short as the Razorbacks were playing catch-up all game long.

Let’s get into the hot takes from this loss.

3. Rakeem Boyd is back

This is so reactionary, but I truly believe that Rakeem Boyd is going to use the momentum he built from Saturday’s performance and carry that over into the rest of the season.

For weeks, he had been nursing a nagging injury while also returning to split carries with Trelon Smith. That no longer looked to be the case on Saturday as he was the more effective runner, totaling 100 yards on 18 carries. He was the hot hand. Smith still finished with 30 yards on five carries, but it was clear that Boyd was the top dog.

If that’s the case and the staff trusts him to get a bulk of the carries again, I’m going to say that he’s back and he’s going to finish the season averaging over 100 yards per game from this point on.

Hot take: Boyd is back, folks.
