1. Arkansas still two years away from being a threat

Before you read this headline and bash me because the Razorbacks have been competitive in every single game this season outside of maybe the A&M game on Saturday, realize that this was supposed to be a major rebuild under Sam Pittman.

Realize that he took over a program in absolute shambles and made them competitive right away, but we have to realize that Arkansas is exceeding expectations.

I’m very high on the future of the Razorbacks and they’ve been one of my favorite teams to watch this season, but when the fourth quarter started and they were down 42-17 to rival Texas A&M on Saturday, it was fairly obvious that this roster just doesn’t have enough right now to compete with the big boys. We saw it against Georgia and we saw it against the Aggies.

Sure, Arkansas beat Ole Miss and Mississippi State and should have beaten Auburn, but the talent on those rosters is far less impressive than Texas A&M and Georgia’s.

Give Pittman a couple of years to develop a new quarterback and get a couple of recruiting classes in town and you’re going to see a Top 25-worthy Arkansas team by 2022.

This isn’t a knock, this is raging optimism.
