The SEC football picture is beginning to look clearer as the season wears on. How do the power rankings shake out after Week 9 action?

Did you miss the Week 9 action? Let’s talk about it, starting with Georgia and Kentucky, a game that ended up being a defensive slugfest.

Georgia was able to put two touchdowns on the board, but that was it against a Kentucky defense apt at taking the ball away, grabbing two interceptions in this one. Did Georgia do enough to stay in the top two of the conference? We will just have to see.

In the CBS Game of the Week, LSU and Auburn faced off in one of the bigger games of the season, at least normally it is. This one was a blowout and it wasn’t fun to watch for either group. LSU fell to Auburn 48-11 in a game that was a bounce-back for Bo Nix who threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, TJ Finley for LSU turned the ball over twice and struggled to get much of anything going offensively.

Ole Miss blew past Vanderbilt, a team that no one expects to win a game this season. Alabama did the same to Mississippi State — blanking them 41-0 — another team that is struggling to do much of anything since Week 1 of the season.

Texas A&M continued it’s dominance over Arkansas, this time in a much less stressful manner, winning 42-31 at Kyle Field this time instead of AT&T Stadium — highlighted by Kellen Mond’s stellar play and the ability of Isaiah Spiller to break someone’s ankles.

Despite falling behind early, Florida took care of Missouri 41-17 after Kyle Trask really got himself going. Overall, things played out much like you would expect — making the power rankings picture that much clearer.

On that note, let’s talk power rankings starting at the bottom and working our way up.
