SEC Football Power Rankings, Week 10: Aggies rising, LSU free-falling
By Shelbie Warr
After falling to Ole Miss and pushing themselves to 0-4, the Commodores stay at No. 14 in the power rankings. They just don’t seem to really know what’s going on and are just absolutely full of question marks. Unless they are able to match up with Mississippi State this week, I don’t anticipate them moving much from this spot.
The Bulldogs don’t move from the 13th spot after being blanked by Alabama this week. I don’t see them moving up much without a convincing win over someone, anyone not named Vanderbilt at this point. KJ Costello just isn’t the answer, though after his injury we may see more of Will Rogers and that may help them out just a little bit.
Ole Miss doesn’t move either after beating Vanderbilt on Saturday afternoon. Yes, a win is a win and this was a dominant one, but this is a win over the likes of Vanderbilt — a team that really since Week 1 hasn’t looked competent in any way shape or form. Ole Miss has a competent offense, but a lack of defense may just keep them as a bottom-dweller this season.
South Carolina struggled with LSU after knocking off Auburn, pushing them back down the power rankings last week. Now, after a week off, they prepare for No. 7 Texas A&M at home, a team they haven’t ever beaten. Is this the year? Does South Carolina find their way up the power rankings after knocking off the Aggies like they did Auburn? We will have to wait and see.
