4. Tulsa (vs. Navy)

Tulsa should have lost to ECU last week, but a mistake by AAC officials kept them undefeated in the conference. This week the Golden Hurricanes will be tested again, as they have to take on the triple option of Navy.

It’s been a frustrating year for Navy. They were considered a dark horse to win the AAC, if only they could replace Malcolm Perry’s production from the quarterback spot. They weren’t going to find a new Malcolm Perry, and it took them a couple weeks to find their quarterback in Dalen Morris.

Tulsa has the dogs, especially in linebacker Zaven Collins, to contain Navy’s triple option, but you only need three yards a carry and the guts to go for it on fourth down to move the ball and eat up clock. That’s always Navy’s goal and it keeps them in games against teams who should otherwise pull away from them based on skill alone.
