3. BYU (at Boise State)

Friday night on the blue. How can you not think Boise has a shot at the win?

BYU has been one of the most impressive teams in the country and it reflects with their No. 9 ranking in the AP Poll. BYU hasn’t even been challenged this year other than by UTSA which, in retrospect, makes no sense.

It’s not known yet who will start at quarterback for the Broncos, as Hank Bachmeier missed last week’s game and Jack Sears started in his place. Boise didn’t miss a beat, scoring 49 on Air Force.

Boise State will need to run successfully, which is something nobody has done against BYU yet. The Cougars are allowing 97 yards per game on the ground. Boise State will need to be much closer to their average of 175.

This game is almost certain to be a shootout. Two teams averaging over 44 points per game against two defenses that have shown they’re capable of giving up points.
