The podcast returns this week for a discussion about the return of Pac-12 football. Can anyone emerge as a College Football Playoff contender this year?

After initially deciding to call off fall football and wait until the spring to take to the gridiron, the Pac-12 reversed course and will return to the field this weekend. The first Saturday of November offers the first chance to see whether teams like Oregon and USC are legitimate contenders in the College Football Playoff discussion, if a team like Arizona State can steal away the conference title, and whether any dark horses will emerge in the division races.

The Saturday Blitz Podcast returns (belatedly) this week to discuss all of the big storylines around the Pac-12. Offering our picks for the top teams in the North and the South, we also look at who might surprise and who might disappoint this year. Most importantly, for a league that scheduled only six regular-season games with no flexibility in the slate, can anyone gain enough momentum to make real noise in the national discussion?

After getting the Pac-12 talk out of the way, the podcast returns after a short break to go over the biggest games of the weekend and offer our picks against the spread. Among the games covered are the top-five ACC clash between Clemson and Notre Dame in South Bend along with the top-10 SEC matchup in Jacksonville between Georgia and Florida.

As always, the discussion is interspersed with plenty of tangents and trips down rabbit holes.
