1. Arizona State upsets USC

Going into the season opener, there’s hope around the USC program again. Although Clay Helton is firmly on the hot seat, the Trojans are returning one of the best quarterbacks in the country and a talented roster, but this might be a nail-in-the-coffin type of game.

Helton may be clinging for his life in Los Angeles if he loses this one and sometimes that type of pressure can lead to a massive letdown.

Well, he’s facing one of the best coaches in the Pac-12 in Herm Edwards who has been known to pull off a few upsets every year and he has opened each of his past two seasons with the Sun Devils red-hot. I don’t expect anything different from the Sun Devils in this one.

The Sun Devils aren’t ranked heading into Saturday afternoon’s matchup but that will change after an upset.

Arizona State is going to shock the nation with a road upset against the Trojans to kick off Saturday’s early slate — a little #Pac12AfterDark feel at noon eastern.
