1. Grayson McCall will earn Heisman consideration

It’s almost impossible to win the Heisman outside of the Power Five conferences. To even get consideration you need to overcome the fact that fewer people are paying attention to what you’re doing and if your team is not unbeaten the presumption is that it means you’re not good enough.

Look to UCF, when during their 25-game winning streak McKenzie Milton finished in the top 10 for Heisman voting twice. Meanwhile, Dillon Gabriel currently leads the FBS in passing by a wide margin but is forgotten because of the two losses that UCF has suffered.

Add in the seasons of players like Gabriel and BYU’s Zach Wilson, and it’s almost impossible to get consideration at Coastal Carolina.

Here’s the thing, McCall deserves consideration. In five games he has 1,184 passing yards and 15 touchdowns to a single interception. His completion rate is at 69.4 percent. Even more impressive might be his legs. He has four rushing touchdowns on the season.

Coastal Carolina’s unbeaten run has been on McCall’s back and while the Heisman may be out of reach, he deserves recognition for their run.
