1. Brenden Knox will average 8.0 yards a carry

Marshall running back Brenden Knox is a strong, one cut and run through you running back. Through five games, he has 556 yards and seven touchdowns. Knox is a workhorse, with over 25 carries in the three competitive games out of five total that Marshall has played.

UMass, meanwhile, is young and struggling on defense. They gave up 309 yards on the ground to the rush heavy Georgia Southern, which is the worst per game average in college football. They gave up 7.7 yards per game in that game, and it could have been worse if Georgia Southern didn’t pull off the gas.

Knox will be in the game for the competitive phase, which means they’ll be attacking downfield and UMass has nowhere to turn and stop that attack. Knox will average 8.0 yards per carry, and he’ll do it by going right down the middle and through the UMass front-seven.
