College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 11
By Zach Bigalke
For the second straight week, Wisconsin football was sidelined by the spread of coronavirus through their locker room. Big Ten protocols that mandate a 21-day isolation period for athletes who contract the virus, which forced the Badgers to call off their home game against Purdue this weekend. Given how few opportunities already existed on their schedule, look for Wisconsin to slide a few spots down the AP Top 25 this week.
That will largely be a consequence of everything else that happened around the country as teams were able to play and distinguish themselves for voters. Paul Chryst’s team cannot miss another game at this point, or they will find themselves ineligible to compete for the division title and a spot in the Big Ten championship game.
Thus Week 11 is a pivotal make-or-break point for the Badgers. If they are unable to take the field on November 14 against Michigan in Ann Arbor, expect AP voters to start dropping Wisconsin completely off their ballots. A 6-0 Badgers team would still make noise in the College Football Playoff discussion, but if they only get five games the season is effectively a series of exhibitions.
