College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 11
By Zach Bigalke
With a 21-13 victory over Nebraska at home in Week 10, combined with the cancellation of the Wisconsin-Purdue game, Northwestern took sole position of the top spot in the Big Ten West. Now 3-0 in the standings, Pat Fitzgerald’s team will jump up into the AP Top 25 on Sunday after they entered the weekend as the team with the most points among others receiving votes.
Peyton Ramsey had some issues at quarterback, throwing two interceptions to the Cornhuskers defense in the first half. Ramsey, though, settled down to finish 16-of-27 for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns. While Adrian Martinez ran for 102 yards and a touchdown for Nebraska, the quarterback was pulled for Luke McCaffrey after a 12-of-27 performance. Both Huskers passers threw an interception along the way to negate a 442-yard day for the Nebraska offense.
With a win in hand, Northwestern will take on Purdue on the road in Week 11. That battle against the Boilermakers will likely determine which team gets to represent the West in the Big Ten championship game this year, especially if Wisconsin misses any more games this season due to COVID-19 issues in their locker room.
