College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 11
By Zach Bigalke
Texas held on for a narrow 17-13 victory over West Virginia on the first Saturday of November, ensuring another week in the AP Top 25 for the Longhorns. The win also kept Texas right in the thick of a wide-open Big 12 race this season. Tom Herman’s team could push up a spot or two closer to the top 20 this week after improving to 5-2, though there is a definite ceiling at this point given the two losses on their record.
Sam Ehlinger completed fewer than half of his passing attempts, going 15-of-31 for just 184 yards against West Virginia’s defense. Ehlinger did throw a pair of touchdown passes, though, and he also added 39 rushing yards. Bijan Robinson led the way with 113 yards on only a dozen carries, averaging more than 10 yards per touch when factoring in his two catches out of the backfield. The Longhorns defense allowed just 47 rushing yards to West Virginia as they kept the Mountaineers one-dimensional.
Heading into Week 11, Texas gets ready to take a week off to recharge before heading into the home stretch of their Big 12 season. The Longhorns return to the field on November 21 when they take on Kansas on the road, and they still have battles against Iowa State and Kansas State that will sort out the chaos of the conference race.
