5-2. Oklahoma Sooners. 815. Pick Analysis. won 62-9 vs. Kansas. 19. player. Scouting Report

Oklahoma had no trouble taking down Kansas on the road, taking a 31-3 lead into the locker room at halftime. After the break, the Sooners extended their lead into a 62-9 rout of the Jayhawks that kept them right in the thick of the Big 12 race. It was a dominant effort in all phases of the game by Lincoln Riley’s team, and as a result they will remain in the mid-to-high teens of the AP Top 25.

Spencer Rattler continued his maturation at quarterback, throwing for 212 yards with a touchdown and a pick on 15-of-27 passing.  Tanner Mordecai added 128 yards and a touchdown on 7-of-8 passing in relief. The Sooners defense was strong on Saturday, forcing two Jalon Daniels interceptions and holding the Jayhawks to just 246 total yards of offense. Only a 32-yard Jacob Borcila field goal right before halftime and a Miles Kendrick touchdown pass on the final play of the game prevented Oklahoma from pitching a shutout.

Oklahoma will take Week 11 off before squaring off against Oklahoma State in their annual Bedlam game. This year the Sooners get to host the rivalry game in Norman, which could prove critical in a contest that might decide which school plays for the Big 12 championship this year. A loss would likely send the Sooners completely out of the polls right before the College Football Playoff selection committee releases their first set of rankings.
