2. Indiana is on fire right now

On the flip side, Indiana is now on a run in which they have won against two ranked powerhouses in Penn State and Michigan. Believe it or not, they have a two-game lead on both of those teams who many people believed to be contenders against Ohio State.

Today’s game was a great showing by the Hoosier offense led by Michael Penix Jr. The redshirt sophomore now has nine total touchdowns on the year after putting up three on Saturday.

Whop Philyor was targeted 21 times in this game. No that is not a typo, Penix looked Philyor’s way 21 times and was rewarded with 11 catches for 79 yards.

Indiana’s defense played tough and physical all day long. Michigan was only able to pick up a minuscule 13 rushing yards on 18 carries.

The Indiana front racked up three sacks and caused consistent pressure on Joe Milton. He was shaky for most of the day as a result and threw two picks Indiana’s way during the fourth quarter.

Indiana now moves forward as one of two undefeated teams left in the Big Ten East. They may still be outside the weight class of college football elites, but it does seem like this team believes they are worth it. That is half the battle now they have to focus on competing with high quality teams such as Ohio State and Wisconsin.
