Loser: Clemson (Down to No. 4)

It is a bit strange to see Clemson in this part of the column, but whenever you fall from being ranked No. 1 in the country, you are a loser from that week.

There is not a lot to say about Clemson following this game, other than they were undermanned against a really good Notre Dame team and still almost came away with the victory. Trevor Lawrence and those guys on defense should return on Nov. 21 against Florida State and it will be all about the rematch with Notre Dame in the ACC championship.

The Tigers are still in great shape and will be on a mission after losing this weekend, which does not bode well for anyone that has to play the Tigers.

Loser: Georgia (Down to No. 12)

Kirby Smart is at a bit of a crossroads at Georgia after this week.

As USA Today Sports columnist Dan Wolken pointed out in his most recent column, Georgia and more specifically Smart are at a point where he needs to make the proper adjustments in the program to get them to where they are capable of being. Georgia’s inability to develop or keep quarterbacks has been the downfall so far in the Smart era, despite having a ridiculous amount of talent everywhere else on your roster.

The top offense in the country is going to score on you no matter how good your defense is and if you don’t have the quarterback to match it, it’s going to be hard to win a championship. Georgia is better than most other programs, but they have things to change if they want to be considered in that elite category.
