Notre Dame football picked up a massive win over top-ranked Clemson in Week 10 and here are some of our biggest hot takes from the victory.

We are going to hear all about how “if Trevor Lawrence played, Notre Dame doesn’t win” over the next month, but with the Irish beating No. 1 Clemson on Saturday evening, that doesn’t much matter.

DJ Uiagalelei is one of the backups in college football and the former five-star prospect still managed to pass for over 400 yards against the normally-stingy Notre Dame defense.

Notre Dame still picked up a crucial win and the Irish are in the driver’s seat in the ACC title race.

Here are some of the hottest takes you’ll read after Notre Dame’s win.

3. Ian Book can still be an elite quarterback

Through the first two months, it seemed like Ian Book took a big step back from his junior year which was also a step in the wrong direction from his breakout sophomore season. Over the past few weeks, he’s looked like a completely different quarterback.

In fact, he was let loose against Pitt and the Fighting Irish responded with a blowout win on the road against the Panthers and a 300-yard performance. That showed the coaching staff that he can still throw the ball at a high level.

The staff let him loose against the No. 1 team in the nation and he responded by leading the offense to 47 points and 310 yards on 22-of-39 passing with a touchdown. He also rushed for 68 yards and gave Clemson’s usually-stout defense fits.

Book can still be elite.
