BYU football picked up its biggest win of the season on Friday night when it traveled to Boise. Let’s get into some piping-hot takes.

Can anyone stop BYU this season? Boise State looked like the team that had the best shot with a home matchup against the Cougars in Week 10, but BYU was ready and took advantage of the fact that Hank Bachmeier was out and Jack Sears was injured early.

BYU took a lead within the first four minutes and never looked back, beating the Broncos 51-17 in one of the worst losses they’ve ever suffered on the blue turf.

The Cougars are playing as well as anyone in college football and for that reason, let’s just get into some hot takes.

3. Tyler Allgeier might be nation’s most underrated running back

If I’m Tyler Allgeier, I have to ask myself what else I have to do in order to earn some respect on a national level. Sure, my teammate is Zach Wilson so it’s easy to be overlooked, but 710 yards and nine rushing touchdowns through eight games with a 6.8 yards per carry average should be enough to get at least a little love.

I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t think twice about Allgeier heading into the Boise State game, especially after three straight sub-100-yard games but he proved me wrong.

Allgeier is a 5-11, 220-pound strong-bodied back who doesn’t go down on first contact and who has some sneaky speed — we saw that with his 86-yard dash in the first quarter. Right now, he’s the second-leading rusher in the Kalani Sitake era behind only Jamaal Williams and he’s played just eight games.

There’s a good chance he reaches 1,000 yards this season and that should be enough to earn some respect.
