As the season continues, the picture becomes clearer as to who is on top and who isn’t. Where does everyone fall in this week’s SEC football power rankings?
We only had four games this week, but those four surely kept everyone entertained — especially that of the first matchup of the week: Florida vs. Georgia.
We had all been waiting for this matchup since the beginning of the year, asking which team would prevail and be the top of the East. Now, we know that the Florida Gators are at the top with Georgia looking on as a bystander in the SEC East as the Gators won convincingly, 44-28.
Next up, was what I affectionately call the “Toilet Bowl” as the two bottom teams in the SEC faced off in Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. The Bulldogs prevailed, 24-17, after forcing five turnovers. It wasn’t pretty and the offense on both sides looked horrid, but the Bulldogs got it done.
Third, is the matchup between Texas A&M and South Carolina. The Aggies looked like a team that had it all together as they routed the Gamecocks 48-3. The Gamecocks looked lethargic and just absolutely out of sync as the game continued on while the Aggies looked just the opposite.
Could this be the year for the Aggies?
Finally, Arkansas took on Tennessee in another close, cross-divisional matchup. The Volunteers took a 13-0 lead into halftime, but a lack of offensive output in the second half allowed Feleipe Franks and the Razorbacks to make a comeback and win 24-13.
Now, we talk about power rankings. Where will your team end up? We start at the bottom.
