Notre Dame football is hoping to avoid a hangover against Boston College on Saturday afternoon in Chestnut Hill. Will the Irish stave off an upset?

Coming off its best win in years, Notre Dame travels to Chestnut Hill to battle Boston College on Saturday afternoon. Could there be an upset brewing? Are the Irish in trouble?

Ian Book and DJ Uiagalelei both had great games last Saturday. It was a great matchup between the fifth-year senior and the freshman sensation making his second career start under the lights on the national stage.

This week’s quarterback matchup is no different between Notre Dame and Boston College. It might actually be more intriguing if you follow either program.

You might have read that and asked yourself how it gets more interesting than a quarterback who just last week was on the No. 1 team in the country? It gets a lot more intriguing since it features two quarterbacks who were teammates a year ago in South Bend with Ian Book and Phil Jurkovec facing off.

Jurkovec will be out to prove to his former teammates and coaching staff that he was the main man for the job all along while Book is looking to improve his record to 28-3 with a win as a starter.

It should be a fun-filled afternoon and here are some bold predictions for the game.

3. Notre Dame runs for over 225 yards

Notre Dame’s bread and butter this year on offense for the majority of the season has been running the ball successfully on their opponent. They got away from that in the second half last week against Clemson, but I see them getting back on track behind their well experienced offensive line.

Notre Dame doesn’t just have one running back to prepare for in the backfield either. They have great depth in Kyren Williams, Chris Tyree and C’Bo Flemister. All three have the capability of picking up huge chunks of yards on the ground.

Running the ball effectively will also allow Notre Dame to control the clock and keep Phil Jurkovec and the Eagles’ offense on the sidelines.
