2. Demetric Felton is a more than serviceable running back

When Demetric Felton came to UCLA, it was believed he would be a slot receiver with his 5-foot-10 frame. He wasn’t the biggest guy, but he added some muscle and became sort of a hybrid-type for Chip Kelly’s offense.

As a freshman, he played in four games and most of his production came from the ground game as he rushed 10 times for 75 yards, showing that explosiveness.

Then he veered more toward being a receiver as a sophomore with 207 receiving yards and 27 rushing yards before getting a little more balance as a junior with 594 receiving yards and 331 rushing yards with five total scores.

This season, it looks like he’s going to be the replacement for Joshua Kelley at running back and now that he’s needed more in the backfield, he’s taking advantage. And guess what? He actually looks like a more than serviceable option in the backfield for the Bruins as he rushed for 57 yards on 10 carries in the opener and then 107 yards on 25 carries versus Cal.

UCLA is in good shape in the run game with Felton leading the way.
